Presbyopia - Q & A 5

M.C.: I have a question for you. I have noticed that My eyes are slower to focus up close than they used to be. Do you know any causes for that? Any exercises or something I can do?

Troy: Generally right brain dominant people tend to start having difficulty focusing up close around 40. They are naturally more interested in what's out there instead of what's up close. They tend to associate what's up close with stressful things. They don't want to spend much time on things up close so they diffuse to get a quick overview of what's up close and then go back to the distance.

Also I get the feeling that there is a mechanism built in us that encourages us to be interested in ourselves when we are younger: keeping safe and securing our interests, and when we are older this mechanism encourages us to be more interested in others and what's out there.

In any case practicing the correct vision habits especially in our weak areas can bring our vision back to balance. The Correct Vision Habits: Sketching, Breathing, and Blinking. The Correct Vision Behaviors: Move Through and Connect To, with Dynamic Relaxation and Continuity.

I think right brained people, people who tend to become presbyopic(blurry up close), just don't spend hardly any time exploring what's up close.

Eyesight Improvement Kits - Q & A 4

A55 asks: well can't you buy those see naturally and improve your vision naturally eye kits? I mean are those kits you can buy effective or would you still recommend taking vision classes from someone like yourself?

Troy: I don't know of any effective kits out there. The one I think you are talking about is the See Clearly Method. It emphasises incorrect principles. Most people don't have any success with it.

The best option is a teacher. They can usually taylor the learning to a students needs. They also usually have continued support. I teach refresher support group classes. There are teachers all over the United States. Visions of Joy usually has a pretty good list of them but it must be being updated. Until a teacher is found the next best thing is to read the book Relearning to See. I have referral links to it to Amazon on my website.

Scope of NEI and healing - Q & A 3

A55 asks: So wait now I thought the body would heal itself from LASIK on it's own just based off of the body's own ability to heal. But I do know that the surface of the eye from the incision point will heal. But the lazer burns away and reshapes the cornea which will never be as thick again right?

Isn't that why they measure the thickness of the cornea prior to performing LASIK vision correction? And then if it's thick enough they tell you that you can receive an enhancement if needed. They do say that your eyesight could worsen with age, but won't everbody's worsen with age?

How much do you charge for natural eyesight enhancing then? And how long does it take?

Troy: Our vision gets blurry because our eyes are squeezed out of shape. This all happens because we learn to use our eyes and mind and body together incorrectly. With LASIK our corneas are reshaped. Because of LASIK our eyeballs have to permanently maintain an elongated shape. I do believe that a person with LASIK who relearns to see will maintain perfect vision no matter what prescription or LASIK etching they have. I also believe that under the influence of perfect vision habits the eyes will change to become the most efficient. In order for LASIK eyes to become the most effiecient they will fill in materal where it was removed in order to obtain a neutral shperical shape. This isn't really important for people to know though. What is important to know is that once we master the correct vision habits we will have perfect eyesight effortlessly for life without any artificial corrections.

Yeah they say vision worsens with age but that is not correct. Vision worsens because of incorrect vision habits. These habits will continue to worsen if we do not address the real issues. Stronger glasses or prescriptions lead to macular degeneration, retinal detatchment, cataracts and other diseases.

I charge $295 for a seven week course. Once a week for seven weeks. I also teach free refresher classes once a month.

Scope of NEI - Q & A 2

A55 asks: So I've heard that you can fix your eyesight naturally. But does it only work for minor corrections or major ones too? I had the lasik vision corrction surgery done and too be honest I just love it, not having to wear contacts or eyeglasses anymore. It provides more freedom. Are there any negative impacts to your eyes from having lasik?

Troy: Natural Vision Improvement effects all kinds of blurry vision: low to high myopia and farsightedness, presbyopia('old age vision'), crossed eyes, astigmatism. Most all conditions can be improved from relearning to see.

The number one concern for people who have had LASIK is if they had both of their eyes corrected for a single distance or if they had monovision correction. Monovision is more severe than univision. The next concern is how strong a correction was made. -1 to -2 is light, -4 to -6 is heavy.

LASIK does not address the real problem so people eventually get blurry vision again.

Relearning to see takes a whole lot of stress off the system. It can prevent blurry vision again in people with LASIK. I believe that when the vision system is under the influence of refined natural vision habits that the eyes can heal themselves of the damage of LASIK.

Artificial Corrections at the Computer - Q & A 1

d73 asks: when talking about eye health at the computer, is it best to wear glasses instead of no glasses at all to protect your eyes?

Troy: The best option for most peple who spend lots of time in front of the computer is to wear 20/80 glasses. 20/20 glasses are for distant vision only and are too strong for up close. Also LCD flat screens seem to be easier and healthier on the eyes than CRT(cathode ray tube) screens. 20/20 glasses if worn up close will eventually weaken our close vision and lead to bifocals. The next best option is to not wear any glasses and use an LCD flat screen at distances greater than a foot if you can read the screen at that distance or further out.
